After much research, I found out that the new fashion trends for this spring focus on color. It seems that contrasting patterns of black and white are in, and the old standby, bright red, still reigns supreme! Stripes are back, as well as retro-look neon colors!

The big designers are using light, airy fabrics to create soft and feminine dresses and blouses. Interest is big with the addition of pleats, folds, and draping, to give skirts and dresses the bold and classic emphasis of Roman and Greek times. The one-shoulder look, which emerged last fall, is still bigger than ever for spring and summer.

Florals have made a comeback along with the spring flowers, and shoppers will find that the stores will be filled with them in bright colors as well as, gently muted pastels.

Drawstring waists are also big, as are lace embellishments; on everything, even shoes! Wearing clothes is fun again with the bright colors, florals and lace. I can't wait to hit the stores!

I also noticed that there are more lace and lace accents to tops and purses. Sundresses are making a come back, they are fuller and not skin tight and floor length. In shoes there are more wedgies and platform style heels. Lisa

Yeah, what can be more simple than slipping on a pretty sundress? And they are reasonably priced too!

Heck, if you are handy with the sewing machine, you could whip up a couple in an afternoon! (Wish I was.)

I also love capris. Since having babies, my figure isn't what it used to be, so short shorts are OUT. Capris are a nice alternative.

I just got a pair of those Fit Flops. They are supposed to help firm and tone your legs, so let's see if they work.

Tie dye is back?

All the more reason to NEVER toss anything out. What is old is new again, as they say!

I have a closet full of favorite things that have gone out of style. I'm just waiting for them to come back into fashion and they are out of there!!

haha, i know - i can't believe tie-dye is back either.  i'm a little scared by the 80's clothes coming back - like acid washed jeans and big shoulders are also being seen on runways.  those i wouldn't recommend wearing.
